Don't remember where this was that I learned this, however, Weirton Steel created and fabricated the steel for the Mackinaw Bridge, and they assembled the bridge in Weirton WV to make sure it fit together before shipping it the straits. Probably not the whole bridge at once, but still, assembling one of those towers is major.

A further Weirton Steel shout out, they also made and fabricated all the steel for the World Trade Center buildings.

They should build an off ramp to Mackinac Island, and set up drive thrus at the fudge shops.
