Sorry Rook. Been pretty busy at work and haven't been able to get over here. We just started war prep today. When ours is over, i'd be glad to come over and participate on Friday. Can you guys hold off starting until ours finishes up?

We got matched up with an outrageous clan. Their number 23 guy had max heros and it was like that all the way up. We tried the Rope a Dope that you guys did. Didn't work at all and we got rolled. If you can hold off starting war til ours ends - Friday at this time, id love to come over and do a war with you guys! Let me know, may be able to bring a couple of others with me too.

Agoge war not going well! So many bad attacks. Our number #4 went against their 14 with giants archers and mins. needless to say "he got owned"

Great war for Main clan! Payne sealed the deal. Great participation sans the 'Stapler'!

A couple of solid overnight newbies: Nettleman - lvl91 (alum), Spartan - lvl86 (quiet so far -- still need to vet), and Orko - lvl99 (adam's friend).

We are planning for our usual Friday night 'war'.

Let's get a list of who's coming/going so we have a full load of 50.

@Nordic: did you join somewhere? what's your handle?

113-109. Vitritis / Payne went GoWiWi on last attack to get 3. It was a nail biter to the end! Cerulean from Heavy Armor came down and was providing step by step instruction to help. It was awesome! He even joined us with his Daughters account (MacMillan).

So I have one other guy that would like to participate. He was in briefly when I was there last time. Name is Michael. Higher level base than me. So reserve him and me a spot for Friday if possible. He is in England so will join before me. Mac knows him well too.

Awesome!  Think he popped by once before and all of us were like "whoa".  We will book two spots for you guys!

We are at 47 and might have two others joining also.  We will likely send someone down to Agoge for time being.

I just demoted myself this morning if that helps. I just moved and still have a ton to do and AT&T sucks so I don't have wifi at my house until possibly Monday. I'll come back over once I get settled in if you guys need me.

What would you guys recommend for a th6 army for clan wars?

I just got to th6 recently and will unlock the healer shortly.

Before now, I've just used 3 or so wallbreakers, 10 giants or so, and then the rest archers. I have not really used wizards much in my own armies and I am not sure if I should mix them in more?

Any tips for a newbie???

Healers + Giants is a great combo. Mix in some wallbreakers, archers and gobs and that is the combo I still use for resource raiding.

Snipe, what you are using is the best you got. Healer, giants, Archers. No gobs though for CWs. Lvl 3 Wizzards are pretty useless. Get high level Hogs for your CC and release them right behind the giants/healer after the mortars engage the giants. Sometimes there is a mortar near an opposite edge and you can drop hogs there.

Thanks I figured that was likely the best combo but I was nervous with everyone talking about making sure people aren't attacking in clan wars with farming troops (this is usually my normal setup when I'm raiding and going for 100% & resources).

I will have to figure out what ratio works best for me once I level up my army camps. Right now I think I'm still at 110 capacity and I usually use about 3 wallbreakers, 10 giants, and the rest archers (I think like 54 or something). Now that I'll have healers by tonight I'll have to adjust it a little. Probably 1-2 healers and 1-2 more giants.

Healers are best used with big groups of giants since they heal an area splash instead of just a single unit. They are also pretty easily taken out by air defenses so a good strategy is to try to have your giants or some hogs take out and AD and then send in your healer(s).

Also don't try to use healers with archers or other weaker units that will get killed in one shot. And remember they don't heal air units like dragons or balloons either.

Giants, wallbreakers, archers, healers is a solid TH6-TH7 attack strategy.
You likely only need 1 healer. Can supplement with a heal spell if your healer gets whacked or there is an air defense that you can't get to before the giants start getting taken out. May want to use a handful of goblins too, which will help quickly clean up the resources missed by the other troops at the end.

You should work to upgrade/max out your camps, if you haven't already. I can't remember what the max is for TH6, but 110 seems low. At TH7 you can get to 200 troop capacity.

Yeah I've been working on upgrading defenses/walls/etc and sort of forgot about my ol army camps. They are now a priority once my builders free up. I had to finish upgrading so I could get healers and healing spells.

camps sux to upgrade. Take a ton of elix and a long time for a measly 5 more troops. But, you need to do it.

I am not sure how I forgot to upgrade them earlier. I was at TH5 for awhile with everything maxed out that I could with plenty of resources. Somehow I forgot to check to see if I could upgrade the army camps I guess.
