Lou Dawkins his H.S. coach at Saginaw played for Tubby at Tulsa. That was a done deal and everyone who followed basketball knew it was a done deal. Lou and Tubby were very close and they had Day Day wrapped up to Kentucky from day one. Plus it was "Kentucky" If Day Day wasn't coming MSU, the only other school he was going to was Kentucky with Tubby and Dawkins. Oh, and btw, when Day Day verbaled to Kentucky, MSU didn't have any scholarships to give out. We didn't have one till Maurice Joseph tranferered out. Then when Kentucky fired Tubby, and Mo Jo transfered, Day Day was a done deal to MSU. A School he had in his final two because his aunt who was a Parade All America, played at MSU.
So, I'll let you say what you want to say. Say Izzo didn't offer, say Day Day didn't have us in his final two, but lets do it with some facts first.
Have at it.

Re: Draymond Green
From your linked article.
"Ever since I was a child, MSU was my dream school," he said. "Even this year I wanted to go there, but then Tubby Smith came and presented his program to me. I didn't have an offer from Michigan State and I can't just constantly wait, so I committed to him."
And if Izzo offered?
"I don't know what I would do right now," he said.
The offer came and so did an all-out MSU recruitment, after Maurice Joseph's transfer from MSU to Vermont opened up a spot for Green to join Delvon Roe and Korie Lucious in MSU's 2008 recruiting class. But new Michigan coach John Beilein identified Green as a top priority upon his April hire.
In the most serious Beilein-Izzo recruiting battle until the current joust for U-D Jesuit 2016 point guard Cassius Winston, Green said Beilein made a "huge push" for him. He also recalled being "scared of Sparty" as a young boy watching aunt Annette Babers play for the MSU women's team.
Green cited those lifelong leanings and his fit in the MSU offense as he announced his choice at Saginaw High
But you said Izzo didn't recruit him, then you linked and article that said 1. We didn't have a scholarship for him, and 2. once we did Izzo went gangbusters after him.
Help me out here Herbie, you need to be a better troll.

Clever play on words or disapproving of Day Day's move?
Context - Rockets and Eric Beverly came out intent on trying to bully Steph and got extremely physical with him early. Day Day was sending a message. This move is WBH sanctioned.

Like any other sport it is the retaliation that is punished.
If the NBA wanted to make it fair they should allow Green's team to chose one person to suspend on the other team.

True, indeed. But that leg grab could’ve caused a far more serious injury than Draymont’s stomp. Yes, Draymont, because that’s how Izzo pronounced it his freshman year.

Wasn't really meant to be totally fair. More like don't do shit unless you really want your team to lose its best player.
Re: Draymond Green
It was Sabonis's own fault he got stepped on with the grabbing and everything.
Where else was his foot going to land? However, DayDay was hella extra with the stomp though. That said if Draymond got suspended then Sabonis should too, you can't suspend the retaliator and not the instigator. None of this happens if he didn't grab him first.

No doubt he would pick Draymond over Poole.
But Draymond has a one year player option, and Poole signed a 4 year deal at $32 million/year (might be tough to trade).

If the GM comes back, Green is back and Poole is peddled off to a team that doesn’t need an assist/rebound point forward who can play lockdown defense.
If the GM leaves, Green to the Lakes isn’t out of the question.
