Fun fact: Domestic turkeys can't reproduce naturally.
Domestic makes it sound like it's a pet instead of food.
On a completely unrelated note, I'm so glad this guy is here:
Remember the old one though? It had a little wiggle in it's spin that made it much more effective. Miss that one.

Go on...
I actually do know things about hockey....shall I start with that?
What's your favorite Round 1 matchup? Being from Metro Detroit and having family on the East Coast the Wings vs Bruins series is tops for myself. Boston won the first game in the regular season, but Detroit won the last three. I can very easily see this series go 6 or even 7 games, and the 3 goal loss yesterday was surprising even though Boston was playing for everything. I really think Detroit holds serve at home and head back to Boston up 3-1. Even if they only manage 1 win, I still like Detroit in a best of 3.
My goodness...I'm not sure how I missed this post. Here we go:
My favorite is actually not Detroit-Boston. While I am heavily invested in it, being a lifelong Wings fan and former employee, my feelings get in the way of allowing me to truly enjoy the series. For instance...there were a lot of really great plays in game 2 but I didn't appreciate them because I was so frustrated.
My favorite is Chicago-St. Louis. Those are two teams that absolutely hate each other...something the DET-BOS series doesn't have, IMO. CHI-STL are old Central Division (still Central Division) rivals that go way back. It's only become a rivalry in the last couple years since the Blues have gotten their collective head out of their ass. It's a fast-paced, high-scoring, hard-hitting (sometimes illegally, Brent Seabrook!) series that has been great to watch so far. I expect it to continue and maybe even go 7. But I hope not. I hope STL wins in 5 or 6.
As for the DET-BOS series, it pains me to say this but I don't see the Wings winning. Boston will be allowed to do what they want at home. The Wings, however, even at home, may not be able to play the uptempo game they want. I really don't see the league being happy about its Presidents' Cup trophy winning team going down in the first round. I'm normally not one for conspiracies and, even though I like to poke fun at it, I don't think Bettman controls the referees or the series, I think Boston takes this one in 6 or 7. The Bruins will, without a doubt, win game 5 at home.

Wings will win Game 3 and lose Games 4 and 5, will win Game 6 and lose in 7.

So this is a billboard in Corktown. Except somebody added the words "on jenkem" in spray paint. When I saw that on Saturday, I assumed it was Goodbar.

Re: Random Ramblings
I didn't take the picture, but I couldn't post the link to the site where I found the picture. When I did a Google image search for the billboard, that was the only one that turned up and I thought it was fake for the same reason.Rocinante wrote:Turtleneck wrote:So this is a billboard in Corktown. I tried to get a picture, but my attempt failed and didn't want to say "hey, go back, I need to get a picture of that billboard so I can post it on this internet message board I frequent visit." I also did not want to explain jenkem.

I've wondered that many a time. Mayo is a condiment, like ketchup; it shouldn't ever be called a dressing.

I cringe whenever I see someone use the word "pop" when talking about a recruit committing to a schoool.
"I hope PLAYER X pops for us today."
Seriously, only a huge tool would say somethign like that.

They don't call mayonnaise salad dressing. Mayonnaise (Hellman's for example) is good food, salad dressing (Miracle Whip for example) is glorified pig slop and shouldn't be consumed by humans.

Yep and the side effects are ignored by the idiots addicted to all of them. It's worse than cigarette ads from the 60s. I am also really tired of the cialis ads. I don't need my kids hearing about erectile dysfunction every commercial break during a golf tournament.

Public service announcement: it's better to just stay off the jenkem folks. It's great for a while but then you lose your appetite and the only thing that helps with that is bath salts. Except then you have an insatiable animalistic hunger for human face, and then when you come off that the only thing that helps you deal with the sight of a faceless homeless guy lying next to you is jenkem. See, once you're on the jenkem-bath salts roller coaster, it's hard to get off.

I saw Dark Shadows last night. Went in not expecting much, and was pleasantly surprised! I would say the best Tim Burton live action since Beetlejuice.

I still periodically check my deceased brother's Facebook page because people still frequently post on it. Someone just posted this and I started bawling. I had heard the song before, and never payed much attention to it. It means more when you think of someone specific.

Go back to tRCMB every couple days now. Occasionally spot a poster I have appreciated over the years that doesn't seem to have any awareness of this board and send them a PM.
