Just wait until he finds out about dunking a basketball instead of going for a lay up. What a bitch. You’re going to cross check someone to the head for that? Sucks to lose, loser. Get over it.
Literally nobody asked you.

Re: Random Ramblings
Compared DD & GH with the same orders at the same restaurants. GH was always at least 10% higher. Never used their service. Discovered today they've been charging my card over $10 the last couple months.
Logged into my account but couldn't find a way to cancel it online. Couldn't find any phone numbers on the site either so went googling and found one. For anyone that wants it: (877) 585-7878
Said they were sending an email confirming the cancellation but haven't seen one yet. Fingers crossed don't see another charge next month.

But all star games should just be gotten rid of. It’s a relic of a time when you couldn’t see every point luka doncic scored last night with a swipe of your finger. Get them all playing in the same game because otherwise you might only see them once or twice a year. We don’t need that anymore and it’s just kinda silly. Give all of the players a few days off mid season and call it good.

Re: Random Ramblings
The game obviously has to go to just a skills competition. I personally didn't watch it.
My dumb Idea. Old guys, remember the one on one competition back in the day? Elimination tournamnet between two great NBA players weekly? Lets do that. Lets vote for the all stars. Lets get our field by fan vote. Then, just ahve an elimination one on one tournament. Or, lets have a three on three elimination tournament. One Big one (4-5) one (1-2). Or better yet, take the best three off of each team and send them for a three on three tournament.

Re: Random Ramblings
It's been awhile but I did run a golf outing that had a new car as a hole in one prize. As I remember it wasn't that expensive, a few hundred bucks. We got a local car dealership to pay for it, let them put a car out there and some ads for their dealership. It included some minor prizes for the other holes as well. We had to provide a volunteer to watch the hole all day.DWags wrote:I was in manistee at a golf fundraiser about 4 summers ago and my playing partner got about 12 inches from a hole in one and a new car. I wanted to ask the sponsors what insurance cost for that hole. (It was probably further than 12 inches, but legends always grow). Anybody have a reasonable guess on insurance for that?

one summer I worked at a swanky golf course (Linville Ridge CC) and the member's championship tournament had the 'get a hole in one, win a car' on a par three.DWags wrote:I was in manistee at a golf fundraiser about 4 summers ago and my playing partner got about 12 inches from a hole in one and a new car. my Mom happened to be an insurance agent and I ask her about it. I remember her telling me that the actual policy is called "hole in one insurance" and it wasn't near as expensive as I thought it would've been. Granted, this was probably 1989 or so. Maybe a couple of hundred dollars back then.
I imagine insurance companies have a few actuarial scientists running the numbers to make sure they aren't losing money.

Dwags I have two kids under three. I’m watching the same YouTube compilation of sesame Street songs I watch every day. Sometimes baby shark gets thrown in there. You think I don’t have fantasies of streaking at the Super Bowl and buying an island as a result? You better fuckin believe I do. I recently found myself listening to EDM on a dog walk. You want to know why dwags? I realized that it was probably a midlife crisis and that while I regret having never attended a rave, the opportunity has passed. I’ll never do that in my life.
Put screws in my leg. Confirm I still feel something.

I collect the sap from three maple trees in my front yard. Sugar content is right around 3%. I then boil the sap down until it's between 66% and 68% sugar. This year I used propane and a turkey boiler to do it, I've got a big stainless steel pot I use. I went through two tanks of propane. I've also got what is called is an arch out in backyard that I sometimes use. I took it all apart as I was going to rebuild it but didn't get around to it before the sap started running. I've got a large (2'x3') flat metal pan I use on that along with split wood for heat. I can boil down close to 50 gallons of sap a day in it. I boiled down around the same amount on the propane and it took around 4 days or so. I did three batches this year. The last batch I didn't watch close enough and it boiled over and I lost maybe close to half of the boiled down syrup or maybe two quarts worth.

How do you determine the 66% sugar mark. Sounds real interesting by the way. Does it smell good while you're doing it?

Oh it smells wonderful while I'm boiling it. I've got a hydrometer I use and just bought a refractometer, which is way easier. Both are pretty precise but with the refractometer the syrup doesn't have to be at a specific temperature.
The lighter syrup is from the first sap I collected with the darker from the last sap. Sugar content of the sap varies, it's usually higher when it first starts running so it requires less boiling. Lower sap content later requires more boiling which leads to the darker color and a little stronger flavor.

I did that 30 years ago or so but just used a broiling pan and kept dumping sap into it. Had sort of a musty taste to it.
