So I just need to watch the debate with subtitles and I’ll be able to see how well Biden did? If that isn’t a path to victory I don’t know what is.
Slack jawed open mouthed vacant stares don’t have subtitles, I guess?

You mean the debate where CNN fucked up Biden's mic and used the worst camera angles they could, to make him look bad?
That debate?
FWIW, people who read the debate, or are English as a second language who watched with translations or captions though Trump sucked, and the Biden did a good job.
As I said, I though you guys were smarter than that, based on the discussions you all had on here when the board started.
People have commented on the shitty camera angles and improper sound levels on the mic. I grant it could be incompetence by the CNN techs, but they are supposed to know how to do this stuff.
Isn't someone on the board a broadcast person?

lol Cam, I know Biden has flaws, in this thread I’m saying why I still think a flawed man needs to be elected. I’m not confident that changing candidates at this point does anything but help Trump.
So, it says “Biden vs Trump”. If you can give me a reason why I shouldn’t bring up Trumps flaws when Biden’s are written about, I’ll stop bringing up the reasons Trump will destroy our country. Just one reason I shouldn’t counter an argument against a good man. I’ll stop bringing up Trumps insanity.
But if you can’t, well, you can fuck right off, ignore the maniac running and keep whinning about Biden.
Cause this is a Trump vs Biden thread. That type of discourse belongs in this thread.
I started this thread, and because I wanted to keep them separate I started a thread about who should replace Biden. You can go over to that thread. Tell me how fucked up I am on any kind of choice I come up with. That’s why I started it This thread is Trump versus Biden

I’ll hate him if he runs, loses, and I have to spend the rest of my life living under the thumb of Christian extremists. But for now I just think he’s not up for this. Which makes sense. He’s 167 years old.
You’ve lost the fuckin plot man. My opinion of you is that your complete inability to ever admit you are wrong makes you sound like an absolute maniac at times like this. Like you are so conditioned to never ever give an inch that you end up defending the stupidest things and earnestly believe you’re making a good point. Everyone else just sees a ranting raving maniac, but you think you’re making a point.

You do realize she had the FBI, KGB, tNYT, most of the police and an internet army against her and almost won?
Any Democratic candidate is facing the same problem and the second they are named to replace Biden, or even before in the case of Harris, the same feeding frenzy occurs.
As to your distain for cash and organization, if Clinton had set up operations in Michigan & Wisconsin instead of taking them for granted she might have won.

Yep. She ran a stupid campaign. Had she won America could say Trump on tape bragging about sexually assaulting women was the reason. Once he won, it became the tipping point where a good portion of our country crawled out of their slime pit and publicly said, I’m a sexist racist idiot a d idgaf from here on out. I’ll fly flags and wear hats proclaiming my misogyny.
Bad campaign by the dems. Helped ruin America.

If you have a two-party system and the party that is supposed to represent the interest of common people is instead captured by megadonors and well-connected insiders and the group that should be able to exercise the collective power of the working class is too cowed and unimaginative to make themselves a player, then guess what… regular people will lose faith in that party. And because we are in a two-party system, many of those regular people will drift towards the other party. And that is what is happening in America. Watching the acute crisis of Biden’s futile attempt to hang on to the death play out in back rooms is a vivid illustration of why we need to make the heart of this party accessible to the people it is supposed to be working for. Organized labor is the one and only tool that is capable of doing that. They need to get their fucking shit together. Both in the long run, and also, please, right now, on this topic, before it is too late.

One of these candidates refused to speak at a function two days ago because he respects unions and strikes and organized labor.
One is a grifter rapist whose party opposes unions.

And there will be a similar situation for any Democratic candidate. The Republicans excel at dirty negative campaigns, and switching candidates would create for them tons of materials to use.
Biden has the money and has spent the last 18 months setting up field offices and a ground game in the swing states. That organization cannot be transfered due to campaign laws.
My feelings are there are more "hidden" Biden voters than it seems, when it comes down to allowing crazy to be elected or voting for Biden.

It would start with pointing out that Trump has done the job and they haven't. All of the names so for have no foreign policy chops, except for Harris, so they would go after that hard. If it's a governor everything bad in that state will be blamed on them. If it's a woman or minority they will be crying about the only reason they were chosen was that.
This crap practically writes itself and I don't do this for a living.

Or, this new person could quickly gain tons of momentum for looking pretty good up against an old man that can't talk. Donald Trump has spent the last few months strategizing a campaign around Joe Biden and suddenly he would have a new opponent. His entire campaign is upended and he loses all the campaign gains he has made running an effective "biden is unfit/old" campaign. They will of course quickly go negative and run an insanely negative campaign because that's the easiest thing you can do in that situation. Unfortunately for them, that kind of campaign only works on some people and the jury is out if it would work on the undecided middle people they are both targeting.

you read a tweet, did you see the whole statement? This person was quoting a single line and you are easily manipulated. Find the source and report back in shame, as i am sure he said something like that instead of the selective reporting you are suckling from.

Don't European countries have like a 90 day window in which to run a campaign? That seems to work out pretty well. It's ridiculous that ours start two years before the actual election and with mid-term elections it's seems this country is in a perpetual state of campaigning and therefore the candidates can't even focus on what needs to be done.

It's ridiculous that ours start two years before the actual election and with mid-term elections it's seems this country is in a perpetual state of campaigning and therefore the candidates can't even focus on what needs to be done.
As i get older, the more i think this as well. Trump's entire first term felt like he was campaigning. We should only allow campaigning in the month or two before an election so that they can focus on their jobs first and foremost. There's not a lot of reason to go more than that. Citizens united allows PACs to go out of control anyways, let them fight it out for you in the early days if they must.

I would prefer that the prospect of losing to Trump upsets and perturbs him, but he seems to be at peace with it.
you read a tweet, did you see the whole statement? This person was quoting a single line and you are easily manipulated. Find the source and report back in shame, as i am sure he said something like that instead of the selective reporting you are suckling from.
Here it is on video, dickhead:

Now explain to me again how it was a great answer that really meets the moment. Because all I see is an old egotist who is okay if he loses, so long as he's the only one who is allowed to try.
