You must have never had another hunter break wind in your general direction after he's been on a four day bender.

Went camping at Muskallonge SP years back. Didn't get there until about 1am. Deer all over the road starting just past Newberry. Was pulling a trailer so kept it no higher than maybe 35 mph.kingstonlake wrote:.The Pantry wrote:Hunting up North or south of the bridge? Score any pasties?

I was so pissed this summer. Since the DNR has cut back on fish stocking it's hard to find a decent walleye lake in the area anymore. Found a few south of muskellounge SP. Drove there and found our their all no motor lakes. WTF. Tired of these hippie fucking regulation kayak lakes.

I don't get why more people don't head south for deer season. Corn fed deer and way fewer hunters. Deer everywhere. I think I saw a buck driving a Winnebago into southern Hillsdale county, probably to stock up on all the food available.

But are they cornfed? I think not. They probably dine on grass and birch trees and fill up on gravel.

Just need to find out when the DNR trucks come to the lakes and drop off their pallets of stock.

No they are not cornfed. And are more gamey than southern deer. But I like hunting in peace and quiet. Just mother nature sounds. Not interstate sounds, bright lights of 7-11 in the background, and the soothing sounds of Buford and his lifted F-150 that's never spent a second on a dirt road.

Exactly where I'm talking about. Southern Branch and Hillsdale counties. One spot south of Coldwater, another south of Reading. Your old colleague has it perfect. Kingston couldnt be more wrong. No highways nearby. Nobody around, lots of peace and quiet, plenty of woods. Nothing gamey about the taste of that meat.

I don't get the quad runner, utv craze. The highway is filled with guys bringing them up for season. You can run them only to and from you spot. Why bother.

I like the woods bro. Not corn fields. I like seeing coyote, maybe a wolf, a bear, pine Martin's, even maybe a rarity and see a moose. Oh look a milk cow! Fuck that.

I'm not an ice cream guy but I f'ing love moose tracks.
Moose don't exist in the LP. Population on the rise on Isle Royale due to the wolf #s. I'm on board with reintroducing the wolf population on IR. But I'm drunk.
