Re: tOfficial Pizza Thread
I chose their light-bake option for a couple reasons. Every HH pizza I've ordered in the past was baked to death. A little char on the crust is fine but I'm not a fan of burnt cheese...might as well just throw it in the trash.Senior Dickfist wrote:That pizza looks a bit undercooked. I had howie's recently and I thought it was good for what it is, but the pizza didn't look like that..lol
Always use Jets light-bake option. Gets delivered perfect every time. The great part about light-bake is I never come close to eating an entire pizza. Put the leftovers in a ziploc and in the fridge. Stuff heats up perfect on a hot pizza stone in the oven for days later.

I like pizza a certain way. I pay for extra cheese...went for their 3x option. Factor in delivery and that I'm not a cheap-ass tipper. It adds up.NigelUno wrote:The Pantry wrote:Decided to give Hungry Howies one last try. Ordered their supreme, or whatever they call it, with extra cheese for delivery Saturday.
This is what it looked like when I opened the box
Not only a mess, but lousy crust and very sparse toppings. Don't think there were even 12 slices of pepperoni or much of anything else on the large. They had some online deal for cheese bread so got one of those too. Didn't touch it so took it into work today for others to "enjoy". With tax, delivery, and tip the total was over $35...complete rip off. Thought about calling to complain but decided I'm done with them.
Never again, for sure this time.
$35 for one pizza and cheese bread?
Unfortunately what I paid was far what it was worth. Never again.

You got a triple cheese pizza, and then thought 'Hey! I need more cheese on bread', and ordered cheese bread?

When I’m out of town and we want pizza we always take a chance on a local mom and pops instead of chains. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

It was probably after 10 pm. Only options are HH or Dominos. If Friday or Saturday you can order from SH Jets until 12. I've been making my own. I can make a round that is better than any I can order and my Detroit style is getting very close to Buddy's level.

You seem pretty bitter about a pizza review appearing in the Pizza thread.

Making fun of someone and or chain restaurants is being bitter? Something i am actually bitter about is how stiff and boring a lot of you are.

Jet's Pizza celebrates 40th anniversary
On Sunday, August 26, you can get a large, one topping pizza for the same price it was 40 years ago, in 1978 -- just $4.99.
You can snag the deal from noon to 6 p.m. with the code 1978. You can only get that price, though, if you pick-up, and it's while supplies last. You're also limited to one pizza per order.

The original store opened in Sterling Heights at 14 Mile & Ryan, about a half mile from home as a kid. Owners lived just a couple streets over. Now close to 400 stores in 20 states.Floyd Robertson wrote: Jet's Pizza celebrates 40th anniversaryOn Sunday, August 26, you can get a large, one topping pizza for the same price it was 40 years ago, in 1978 -- just $4.99.

Just got JT's. Had a coupon for $5 off two large pizzas. Still came to $31, then she gave me a dirty look because I didn't tip even though it was pick up. Do most people tip when picking up pizzas now?
Hey lady, $31 is enough for 2 large pizzas, if you want more money take it up with JT.
