Did anyone listen to Valenti's take on the Lions? I couldn't stomach to listen today after he told his listening audience we could walk up to his butt crack and take a whiff. I had a hard time eating my dinner last night and didn't really appreciate the mental image he set up befe he gave his take on the MSU game.

Also; do we even have the right AD to make a splash hire or to pull something ballsy off? The right president? At the time of Dantonio hire Simon and Hollis were president and ad. I honestly don’t even know the name of our current president or ad. They seem like a couple of stand ins until MSU gets its shit together which leads me to believe we will be even luckier if we pull off a good hire next time. Maybe there was some truth to Dantonios post game comments of being happy with 4-4? Shit can get a lot worse and it will.

I caught a few minutes. Pretty same thing he’s been saying and correct on for a few years now. Friends over results. Something about running an organization and at some point you’ll have to fire a friend to stay successful, and you have to be willing to do it. Mentioned MSU may be a hard sell with the current administration not viewed as very competent. Gotta pay assistants top level money etc.

We won with an idea and philosophy that allowed us to punch Superior teams in the mouth with under paid assistants and under budget recruiting. I’d love to see the purse open up for whomever comes in. That’s not MSU. It’s always “that’s good enough” when it comes to football spending. And to be sure it’s not bad. I’d just love to see us in the top five in salary and recruiting budget. That won’t happen so we’ll be good enough some years.
