Even though he won the state Trump wants a recount in Texas. Probably just a fishing expedition to find five or ten fraudulent votes so he can go "see I told you so"

It is both amazing and frightening to see that in action.

They didn't have the authority of a vote in the State Legislature, which would have been breaking Michigan Law if it did vote, so yes, there is no fig leaf to hide behind on this.

It was against the law in Michigan and against the Electoral Voting Act of the US Congress, which requires the Governor's signature on the vote certification to be valid.

That wasn't the point, as their idea was just to be able to make the media claim that there was controversy regarding the vote in Michigan, which just was not legally true, not for that matter pratically true.

Trump et al tried and end around to deny the people of Michigan their vote and it had no real chance of working.
