One of my proudest moments. Took the wyff and kids to Royal Oak for an art fair. Main Street was/is usually a PITA to find a parking spot but one opened in front of me. Never had a problem parallel parking and quickly backed the Suburban in the spot between two other vehicles. Got out and went to the sidewalk side to get the kids out. Couple people watched me park the thing and were smiling and clapping. It was perfect. Single pass and both tires within 2 inches of the curb.

Over the past couple of days, nobody said they punched a hole in the wall. Is that exclusive to TOB or are we really just that Meh about this opener?

Seemed way too quiet around my little slice of EL, considering students were back and it was great weather on a Saturday night after a win in the first football game of the season. Lots of reasons to trigger crazy partying and it didn't seem to happen. Maybe these kids can't handle early tailgating combined with late-night revelry.

Daughter and her boyfriend almost fell asleep at Mitchell's after. I guess heavy partying Friday, then getting up at 6:30 drinking. We dropped them off at 6:30. They were beat.

My random rambling of the day - first day of school. I don't do facespace but occasionally I pop onto my wife's page to check something she told me to check out or whatever. Holy fuckin hell this picture taking with a "First day of X Grade!" sign thing is a pandemic. She has asked me to take a picture of the boy the past couple of years with a sign she printed out and I obliged because who cares, and I guess I sorta knew somewhere in the back of my mind she was gonna post it on facespace but wow. I feel like I should refuse going forward after seeing the 8,000 posts on her feed of other moms doing the same. Why must we do this? Does anyone care other than maybe a few in the extended family?

I won't put my kid's pictures on FB in general. My family and I have a group that we post stuff to, but not out in the regular ass FB. I kind of feel like it's a consent thing. They can't consent to having their info and face out there, so I won't do it. When she gets older and decides she wants to, fine, with an understanding that I'm going to have a talk with her about privacy and what's appropriate to share, and blah blah blah. My partner doesn't even have social media. It's kind of awesome.

Nice of the ice cream truck to roll through the neighborhood for the first time of the year on September 10th. My kid almost shit himself. Took off on his bike before I could even slip him any money. Had to chase his ass down and then chase the goddamned truck down to get a Bratz bar and an ice cream sandwich.

The first few weeks during the summer we had one going through during rush hour. Nothing like being trapped behind one of those in your own sub. Totally maddening.

It feels like way too often when I see a really shitty comment on Facebook to the degree that I'm like "I gotta see who this person is because that's so shitty it has to be a fake account or something" and I go to their FB page, it's a Michigan fan.

My grandson started pre-school last week. He came home with a cold, I have the 1st cold I've had in 2 years. I forgot what cesspools of disease schools are.
