I just talked to the surgeon. He isn't happy with how fast the bone is healing. He seems to think I am putting too much stress on it and limited me to 1 kg (2 lbs) for the next month. I was happy going into the appointment with 95% of my range of motion back, but this is a kick in the balls.

Was leaving today and our receptionist mentioned there is a pizza party at lunch tomorrow to send him off. Said it's from Holiday Pizza and she'd never had it. I chuckled. She asked why. Told her their pizza is very good...it is. Then told her Holiday catered a Christmas luncheon few years back and someone found a cockroach in the mostacciolli.
I've heard the love from holiday pizza.
But the cockroach is really making me gag, and deciding not to eat there.

I'm no orthopedic scientist but healing too fast doesn't pass the sniff test, unless I'm reading it wrong. In any case, doctor's orders. Not sure I have any advice for limiting the amount of weight to bear.

Hey swill Buddy!
Yeah I worded my post poorly. It is not that the injury is healing too fast, instead that the bone is not growing back fast enough. He thinks I am putting too much stress on the elbow trying to get the range of motion back, that it is hindering the growth of the bone. Usually after 6 weeks they see some soft bone growing in the crack (at least that is my understanding). At the moment he sees none. The physical therapist and I both were hoping to be allowed to start some weights to build some strength back.

OK, that makes more sense! Like I said, listen to the good doctor. Short term pain/nuisance = better long term prognosis.

Have him check out Thermopolis and Saratoga. Both are about 2 hours away and have natural thermal hot springs. Taking the fiancee to either would be a nice weekend trip away and something cool (or should I saw hot) that most do not experience.
EDIT: And I am jealous. If the wife and I had to pick somewhere to live, Wyoming might be it. I am not sure if I could survive the winters, but my time in the summer was unbelievable.

Hmmmm perhaps "thermopolis" is too close in name to a place any Spartan would want to go.
