I think Tom Barrett is pond scum because his campaign "inadvertently" put an ad in the Lansing Michigan Bulletin, an alternative newspaper targeting black voters to remember to vote November 6.
Just more ratfuck from the GOP then Barrett plays Sargent Schultz "I know nossing, NOSSING!"
If a “newspaper” for minorities lets someone run an ad targeting minorities with an incorrect election date……
Newspapers barely have enough people to newspaper. They are surely not proofreading ads

Slotkin is garbage. I’ll be voting for garbage. I’m talking about the Democratic Party in the state propping her up instead of better, more fitting of this state, leaders.

I can stomach (even though I cringe) Harris courting republicans, moderates, the middle. I can’t when it’s someone who will be in congress. They actually write and vote on legislation. Fuck that shit courting people you will now owe when you sponsor or co sponser bills.

Michigan is not a deep blue state. It is a slightly blue state. Our Senators have mostly been moderates.

It’s a deeper blue state than you give it credit for. I know what the pundits say. They are wrong.Trapper Gus wrote:Travis of the Cosmos wrote:

MI is like PA, MN, IL and WI
A lot of red in low population, primarily white, HS education (or lower) with blue and purple higher population, high education, diverse population areas surrounded by red.
Harris needs to carry Wayne, Washtenaw, Oakland, Genessee and Kent counties. In 2020 Biden margin was 159k votes. 130k of the winning margin came from Oakland and Kent counties.

Yes.
Not listening to the pundits. Looking at past voting numbers.

Fuck your bi-partisanship and compromise. Far better to just let the government be at a stale mate and get nothing done, right?
The current state of this country is untenable and it’s the whack jobs on either end of the spectrum who refuse to work with others who will burn this place to the ground.

True as far as it goes, however the left wing walk jobs who were elected and were in the 117th Congress put aside their ultimate goals to move the agenda forward by voting for Bills that didn't have what they wanted.
The right wing wack jobs haven't done that in the 118th Congress.

Just because one side has chosen to go off the deep end and go so far to the right doesn’t mean they get to establish what the new middle is.
The Supreme Court is now radically right, giving states the ability to upend settled law. The court has now given immunity from prosecution to sitting presidents. A state now uses a Trump bible in classrooms.
Fuck that shit.
And fuck trying to please them.

If the House turns blue voting rights will be number one bill introduced.

Fascinating how EV’s, renewable energy and China are now the GOP’s straw men in 2024 state and Federal legislative races.

And now for something completely different...
Not sure I like the idea of judges endorsing other judges, though.

Is there anybody in the United States of America at this point, that is waiting for an endorsement from a newspaper, or a celebrity, or a former politician, to make up their mind as to who they are going to vote for?
There is a big thing going on over on Twitter, that people are pissed because the Los Angeles Times editorial board was going to endorse Harris, but the owner of the Newspaper wouldn’t allow it. Who actually GAF?
During the height of their popularity, the Detroit news would always endorse the conservative candidate, and the Detroit Free Press would always endorse the liberal candidate. These endorsements changed nobody’s mind.
These elections are all going to be won or lost on the work of those people who have boots on the ground Are they going to get out the vote? Whichever side does best wins

I tend to agree. But I will say an endorsement by Cheney to a non presidential election candidate has the potential to turn off more democrats than attract more republicans to the Slotkin/Rogers race. And Slotkin being happy about the endorsement puts another nail in her coffin to me.
I only care about Cheneys opinion on one subject and that’s January 6th and her opinion on who is more in line with the ideals of democracy as we know it.

Are we still thanking war criminal Dick Cheney for his "service" to our country?

Harris needs the people who trust Liz Cheney now rather than looking for sins of the father as they stroll down memory lane.

There are too many people, using Ronald Reagan's famous metaphor, who see a pony and start looking for a pile of manure.
If someone isn't voting for a candidate because of an endorsement then most likely without that they would find another rationale not to vote for them.
