That SOUNDS great and all but how does that compare historically? I would imagine every election has somewhat of a run in registrants by new/young voters, the question is how much

Judges rule RFK can come off of the ballot after all.

it'll go to the state supreme court - they'll probably keep it on, which was his (the guy with the worm in his brain) intention all along.WhiteBoyHatcher wrote:Judges rule RFK can come off of the ballot after all.

and now..
Former 2024 presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will remain on the ballot in Michigan in November after the state Supreme Court reversed a lower court’s decision to remove his name.
as I keep saying, stay away from the mainstream media and just listen to me or other idiots like me who don't participate in that garbage.
life is really easy to predict when you're not viewing it through the lens of what the power structure wants you to believe.

I don't see it happening, but that would be pretty epic ff Ted Cruz lost.Trapper Gus wrote:[tw]1834869331169247608[/tw]
.
also, one of the greatest moments in modern political history was when proud, pro-America republican/libertarian Ted Cruz and his family fled America for water and electricity in Mexico.

It's not up 8%, the proportion of new registrants being young new voters went from 8% to 1/3 or 33%. I'd still say that is a good thing as that group is outperforming the past by a large margin but it doesn't actually say that there's a lot more total new registrants in that group in the past. For example in the past the pot might have been diluted and 8% could equal the same amount as 33% is today. I'd bet there are more now than then but just saying, math is fuzzy and misleading sometimes

In other news, a federal judge upholds the Michigan Supremes decision to keep RFK on the ballot. After that SC decision though I don't think the outcome was really in doubt thanks to the ballot deadlines, etc

Doubtful, seems like a state election issue. The federal judge ruling otherwise was never going to happen. It still scares the crap out of me though that fuckery like this could somehow lead to Michigan votes ultimately getting removed since we can't trust this Scotus at all to stay out of politics. Some logic like "the Michigan voters weren't presented with an accurate ballot by the state therefore all results are void".

The current Supreme Court has been selective in which cases it takes up, but in general they rule in ways that favor Republicans.
A few years ago they wouldn't rule on clear cases that would hurt Republicans because it was "too close to the election", then a year later they were ruling on cases that would help Republicans even closer to the election.
I would not be suprised to see the 6 Brooks Bros weighing in on this case for Trump

. Having that Scotus hanging over our heads truly is dejecting. You can literally never say never thanks to those corrupt individuals blatantly tinkering in politics. Losing in 2016 was a truly gargantuan fail by the democratic party. We were a literal hair away from being able to advance this country forward in a way most Americans wanted and instead we've done incalculable damage to the present and future many generations - allowing corruption and strengthening minority rule for years to come.Trapper Gus wrote:sεяεηιτλ wrote:

I would say at least 2 generations, and that's if and only if they don't collapse our government or create a state that can never change these rulings. Both are a possibility in 40-60 years time.

If Harris wins & the Democratics control both sides of Congress there are three must haves before any others:
Pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act
Pass the Redistricting Reform Act
Pass a Supreme Court Reform Act
And added to that to pass the Border Security Act Trump vetoed...

Network of Georgia election officials strategizing to undermine 2024 result
F these people.
Spanning a period beginning in January, the communications expose the inner workings of a group that includes some of the most ardent supporters of the former president Donald Trump’s election lies as well as ongoing efforts to portray the coming election as beset with fraud. Included in the communications are agendas for meetings and efforts to coordinate on policies and messaging as the swing state has once again become a focal point of the presidential campaign.

Literal fucking traitors.
Isn't it their job to oversee the actual operation of conducting a fair and free election? So if that is done correctly, the certification is in fact essentially ceremonial, a formality. With good policy and safe processes, your data is assumed good. Putting in some weird things where you can baselessly refuse to certify is just putting in a safety valve you can pull when you don't like the results.
The depths these people go is insane. There should be a national campaign to harass and protest the actions of these unamerican pieces of shit.

I'm going to post some comments I've seen on FB, from someone that is a trump fan.
The OP is female, the first response is female and only 1 male replied, I think that is poster 3. I know that the OP lives somewhere around Detroit and I'm assuming a lot of responses are also from people in MI, but I didn't look to see where people were from.
I'm not sure what this says, to me everyone is silo'd off and believes that their side is right and the other side is crazy. I tend to be on the side of Harris and think trump is a crazy. I tend to think my side is right because I can find facts to back it up and also I have somewhat basic knowledge of how economics works.
I did not participate in this discussion, because there is someone that posted facts and they just got shouted down.

He just talks. Oh let's not forget about the revenge he wants to pursue. Just do not understand how his followers do not see who he really is-it's so obvious.
Original poster - I think you are very misinformed. Please do your research. Please tell me what you like about Harris, what has she done for you and this country. What has she done in the last 3 1/2 years that you think was amazing. Re: The 2024 US House & Senate (& Presidential Election) and the Michigan Legislature - Who do you Think Wins?
An amazing group of comments.
1 - She has been VP, which at best has the ear of the President and is the deciding vote in the Senate.
2 - She has voted to pass major pieces of legislation that have improved the economy.
3 - When Trump left office the country was a shithole, with thousands dying every day and fewer jobs than when he took office.
There are things to argue about but those points aren't them

Trump did exactly what they accuse harris of - nothing.
He built half a wall that doesn't even work, shouted a lot, committed numerous instances of actual election interference - proven in court. And the only piece of legislation he passed was tax cuts for the rich. Great job, Donald.

A new profile of mega-billionaire Mark Zuckerberg in last week’s New York Times identifies America’s richest millennial (he owns 1/50th of all millennial wealth in the US) as a Libertarian:
“Privately, Mr. Zuckerberg now considers his personal politics to be more like libertarianism or ‘classical liberalism,’ according to people who have spoken to him recently. That includes a hostility to regulation that restricts business, an embrace of free markets and globalism and an openness to social-justice reforms — but only if it stops short of what he considers far-left progressivism.”
Zuck, of course, isn’t the only one. It’s high fashion across Silicon Valley and the GOP to claim your Libertarian credentials; Ron (and now Rand) Paul turned it into a moneymaking scam, and most all of the Putin Caucus in the GOP love to talk up libertarianism, as do multiple rightwing tech billionaires. Senator Mike Lee proclaims himself a Libertarian, and has for years.

Funny but not many poor people make this claim. Maybe its all about Zack not giving a fuck about the system that let him steal all that money.

I'm still seeing a blue wave election...

BTW, in our local township election I am torn. Understand I live in a township that is 80% farming by land area & the 20% that isn't has been annexed in places into A2 & Saline. The township board right now 3 Republicans and one Democratic (who was appointed). The Supervisor, Clerk & Treasurer are Republicans. All of them have been doing this "thankless" job for over 25 years, and really know the township. Yet the Democratic Party has, for the first time, run a full slate (except for treasurer) against them. (I actually think it is a local thing, not the county or state party) I'm having trouble with the idea of voting the experienced people out, especially at the Supervisor & Clerk level, and even the one appointed Democratic trustee, who was primaried. Yet by my principles all Republicans should be voted against, and thus my dilemma. It's about 51/49 that I will vote straight ticket, and as my SO says, this township isn't going blue anyway.
A headline at CNN this morning told a grim story. Democrats grow anxious as Election Day nears. Like most of the conventional media, the writer warned of a deadlocked race. But is it really?
Democrats and pro-choice have been outperforming the polls by 5% or more in election after election for two years.
So the big question is why is this happening. My answer is that the polls are missing something important and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see what it is. They are just not polling enough women, particularly young women, a group notorious for not voting. And they are the very people who have been registering in droves.

In a state full of great politicians and leaders she’s really an embarrassment. The worst Democrat I could think of to be elevated by stupid people who think everything is always a race to the middlekingstonlake wrote:JFC, I don’t know if I can vote for Slotkin. Tired of her MAGA pandering ads.

JFC Travis , put your vote where your posting is and vote for recent MI immigrant Mike Rogers who is allegedly living with his brother because the home he registered as official residence to get nominated doesn't have an occupancy permit if Slotkin is resident evil in your book.
I think Tom Barrett is pond scum because his campaign "inadvertently" put an ad in the Lansing Michigan Bulletin, an alternative newspaper targeting black voters to remember to vote November 6.
Just more ratfuck from the GOP then Barrett plays Sargent Schultz "I know nossing, NOSSING!"

I don’t think I ever have voted for the “lesser of two evils” more than I will in this election. Its why I’m most likely to just ouch the single party button.

If a “newspaper” for minorities lets someone run an ad targeting minorities with an incorrect election date……
