edit - 41% of Michigan has voted ... but what is really crazy is that out of 4.9 million voters in the 2020 election in Georgia over 4 million have already voted.
That's crazy, 4 million of 4.9million already voted. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or if the rural trumpers are getting on board with early voting. Doesn't seem possible that there's a whole lot more Democrat votes than what we saw in 2020 but hopefully i'm wrong. Winning georgia again would assuage a lot of fears by taking out a lot of avenues for a trump win.
Everyone is voting early, even Trump voters

For Trump himself, probably. But the problem with this is this batshit crazy segment of the electorate is just big enough that if a candidate can channel even over 50 percent of the trumpists he or she may have enough votes to win their primary. Primary is all about putting together enough disparate groups and are more easily prone to dominance by flamboyant unamericanism.

Probably both true. Just a slight decrease in the inflammatory rhetoric would probably have made his path easier. For instance in Pennsylvania today he said he would like if an assassin shot through the media to his left to get to him.

Thought about trying to go but I've been to enough political rallies over the years that I know it can be an almost all day thing.
I had naps to take and leaves to rake.
But, yeah, I love Jenison, too. Such a vintage vibe.

No, because they can't. If they try to, they will fail. They didn't want him to win the 2016 primary. They wanted to be done with him after Jan 6. They didn't want him to win the 2024 primary.kingstonlake wrote:If Trump loses convincingly. But they need his voters.
Even once he dies, watch them lionize him, to continue milking him. Don Jr and Eric will be treated as royalty, and candidates will all try to be the most Trumpy. I kind if think this will hurt them more than help them, but they'll try.

The reason the volunteers bring up weather is it can hinder folks who walk/bike/take public transportation to polls. When I was in Lansing one of our neighbors worked for the Blanchard administration. Blanchard was favored for a 3rd term despite an ugly switch dropping 78 year old Lt Gov Martha Griffiths for Olivia Maynard.
However there was a 20+ degree temperature drop from Sunday Nov 4 to Tuesday Nov 6 with high winds and places like Lansing, GR, Kalamazoo and Jackson had heavy rain.
Blanchard lost to John Engler by 0.69%, 17,500 votes of 2.53M cast for the 2 major parties. That's why they want you to vote and vote early if possible.
Fortunately MI election laws have changed since to included getting absentee ballot by request without needing to come up with an excuse, polling places being open multiple days rather than the strict Election Day 7 AM to 8 PM despite GOP efforts to limit voting.

wow - even beyond the politics, it is clear that dementia, syphilis, a decades-long drug addiction, and all the other compounding factors are really taking control of his cognitive abilities.
if this was someone any of us cared about in our private lives - a father, grandfather, etc - you would really have to have a serious conversation with fellow family members about how their drastic cognitive decline should be handled.

Think about it. Some of these cities an venue owners are trump supporters. In both cases it's a donation to the trump campaign to simply allow them to rally and not pay the bills. In the case of the city, it's cover for a way for the tax payers and police forces to donate openly to his campaign

Re: Harris Vs. Trump 2024. The battle to save America. Lets do this.
The break down is 41% dems, 39% unamerican republicans, 20% other
Michigan break down is 46% D, 43% R, 11% other, with 3.1 million ballots cast
PA: 57% D, 33% R, 10% other
WI: 34% D, 26% R, 40% Other
NC: 32% D, 33% R, 35% Other
GA: 45% D, 48% R 7% Other
So the swing states are relatively equal except WI, not sure how there's 40% other there. Overall nationally the vote skews democrat significantly at 44% to 30% to 26% but that's going to be pretty skewed by NY/CA. Overall that seems like a shit ton of early votes, about half of the 2020 electorate. It's a good thing for lines at disorganized precincts that people normally wait around in line for and sometimes quit. A good thing for getting out the vote that probably benefits dems more than rural/idiot republicans.

Some don't allow it. A couple of months ago he was going to a rally in Montana (more for the Senate race than his own), and they said his plane got "diverted" to a different airport 40-50 miles away. Supposedly, it was because the airport he was supposed to land at was still owed money from him from 2020.
And last week he held a rally on the tarmac in Albuquerque (I think?)...because the arena or convention center in town wouldn't allow him due to unpaid bills.
But yeah, a lot will be cowards and let him. At least some push back though.
