I'm a big metal guy, though you'd never know it by looking at me (at any point in my life, other than wearing metal t-shirts in school, I've always been clean cut). But Motley Crue was the first metal band I ever listened to. Shout at the Devil was the first album I heard, and then their debut album, Too Fast For Love was the first one that I ever bought on my own. I wasn't a fan of much that they did after those two, but for popping my metal cherry, they hold a special place, and I loved a lot of the music in this.
As a cinematic piece, it's not like it's Oscar worthy, but it was fun. I knew I made the right choice in not making my daughter watch it when the opening scene has Tommy Lee eating a girl out until she sprays everywhere in the middle of a big party. Kind of a downer when they're all in the dumps, but the happy partying was good fun. I never wanted anything like the lifestyle for myself, but enjoy watching others partake. The Ozzy scene was awesome.
Has anyone read the book? You guys must read it.

No, I haven't. Is it available on audio book? I don't have time to read much, but spend 1.5-2 hours per day in the car.

I don't know but it's a very fast read and tough to put down. I highly recommend it.

Dead on. Some of it was boderline Wayne's World, but I'm left wanting more. Who can they do next?

Into Homeland season 2 now. Still very much enjoying it, but there’s been a couple of twists/story lines that cause me to worry this is going to turn into a type of series more like 24. Hope I’m wrong.

I'm watching "A Discovery of Witches" on AMC. It's o.k. It's a lot like "The Magicians" if you like that sort of thing. The main character is played by South African actress Theresa Palmer and I am in love with her character. She is hot.

Yeah I was loving it then just lost interest. I think you're not wrong. I think I watched until season 3. Tell me if I'm wrong and maybe I'll go back to it.

Well, one of the main developers of Homeland was one of the main writers/showrunners for 24. Homeland almost ended up on Fox, but they wanted more freedom than network TV could give.tGreenWay wrote:Into Homeland season 2 now. What about 24 are you worried about with Homeland?

In OA season 2.
More interpretive dance... now with dimensional travel. Weird.

Wait whoa... Just finished the last of this season. Someone has to watch it. It did something I've never seen happen in a drama.AvgMSUJoe wrote:In OA season 2.

It's a sci-fi thing on Netflix. Second season just released. First season revolved around a dance a group of people did to leap dimensions. Got weirder in the second season.Rocinante wrote:Sorry, what’s OA? It sounds a bit like Legion.

OA is actually a play, it basically means Away.

I am watching season 1 of Tin Star... Like 3 into it. The boy bugged me, so that was a positive turn. The girl seems Lori Grimes level dumb.

Do not fall into the trap of watching "The Traitors". I'm halfway done (think there are only six eps) but it's not that good. The problem is, there are only three more episodes and I'd feel like I wasted three hours if don't waste another three.

I finished watching F1 Drive to Survive on Netflix. Made by the same director that made Senna. Really good series and this is coming from someone that doesn't care much for auto racing.

Yes, really. I think I've seen parts but never the whole thing. Some parts have aged well, others haven't imo.Nordic wrote:InTenSity wrote:Just watched 8 mile for the first time. MSU gonna win.

How has Legion been? I made it about halfway through Season One. When I moved I lost everything on my old DVR including the rest of that season. I could've got it pretty easily but didn't really feel the need.
BTW, anyone watch Preacher? I got about halfway through Season 2 on that.
I just never felt compelled to go any farther on either.
I'm kinda feeling the same way about Season 2 of the OA, btw.

The Walrus Plunge of Death on the new Attenborough "Our Planet" series on Netflix is brutal to watch.

OA was good... The last episode of season 2 was worth the rest of the season... Seeing where they will go with it will be interesting.

They're showing some pretty brutal stuff on this one. Haven't gotten to that but watched some Orcas play catch with a penguin and a polar bear straight up murder a baby seal.

I watched another bad movie with Ben Affleck. Netflix original. Bunch of ex Rangers rip off a Brazilian drug lord and run into issues.

I am a big fan of legion. It’s different than any other show in a good way in my opinion. I hope they do another season.

Timothy Olyphant is so high in this clip. He's way more animated than any of the characters he plays.

Watched 'The Silence' with Stanley Tucci, just out on Netflix. In case you're considering watching it, don't.

IMHO, that is a flic you can imagine exactly what it will be before you turn it on and then it is exactly how you thought...
So, If you liked the idea of Untouchables with a Woody true crime kicker... you selected the right movie.

I imagine The Highwaymen is about truckers or troopers. Or truckers and troopers. Am I right?
