Seems like he is really trying to flip some kids. Besides the article below, lots of news about Harbaugh targeting 2-3 Nebraska commits.

MSU will play BYU in 2016 but they are competing now for the services of a 2015 DE.

One of BYU's top remaining targets is Mufi Hunt, a 6-foot-6, 220-pound defensive end from Sandy's Brighton High. Hunt tweeted that BYU coaches Bronco Mendenhall, Mark Atuaia and Kelly Poppinga made an in-home visit before the Bengals' basketball game Wednesday night. Hunt is visiting Michigan State this weekend. He has also visited Washington State and said two weeks ago that those three schools — MSU, BYU and WSU — are at the top of his list. He has also said he probably won't decide until signing day.

Seems like the kid has some size - from an article last winter:

A prospect we expect to see more interest come his way over the next few months is Belding High's Bryce Wilker, a 6-foot-5, 280-pound offensive tackle who made All-Conference, All-Area and the Grand Rapids Press Dream Team as a junior.

He'll be a for sure red shirt while Mannie puts some bulk on him to be an OT.

EAST LANSING -- Michigan State has added another brick to its offensive line foundation, as Clarkston tight end Cole Chewins has Tweeted out that he has committed to the Spartans.

Chewins, 6-foot-7 and 235 pounds, was previously committed to Miami (Ohio) University and held other offers from Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Ball State, Akron and Kent State.

Michigan State assistant coaches Mark Staten and Brad Salem served as his primary recruiters.

Chewins committed to Miami (Ohio) last June, but the Spartans made an offer on Dec. 16, and Coach Mark Dantonio followed up with a visit on Jan. 15, according to 247Sports.

A good roundup of what is left on MSU's recruiting agenda for 2015.

The Spartans' 2015 class is just about capped off, as Dantonio indicated last week the final scholarship or two available would go to only the most elite recruits on the Michigan State recruiting board.

http://www.mlive.com/spartans/index.ssf/2015/01/column_michigan_state_football_6.html

As LooseGoose pointed out, Sapp is a key target for MSU. The article also mentioned that MSU recently offered Juwan Harris, a 2015 Florida receiver currently committed to Florida Atlantic.

Good read and interview with heat seeking missile and 2015 MSU offer Fotu T. Leiato II.

The Steilacoom High School linebacker and News Tribune All-Area linebacker had zero offers and zeros stars in the spring of 2014. As of Jan. 24, 2015, Leiato had 15 scholarship offers, including Michigan State, Oklahoma, Oregon, San Diego State, UCLA, and Washington State. His highlight video on Hudl is the most viewed in site history at almost 500,000.

2015 MSU offer Juwaun Harris says he might not make it to MSU for a visit.

This weekend, the Scarlet Knights made a hard push to secure the services of Jawuan Harris, a 5-10, 185-pound receiver from St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.).

Multiple schools, including Michigan State, are making a late effort to get in the good graces of Harris, but the explosive pass catcher says he's taken his final official visit.

"I do not plan on taking other visits as of right now, no," Harris, who projects as a Z receiver told NJ Advance Media.

However, he says it has more to do with being tired of flying than anything else.

"If I dont go (to Michigan State next weekend), it would be mainly because I'm just tired of flying," said Harris, whose primary Rutgers recruiter is wide receivers coach Ben McDaniels. "All the traveling and stuff like that, it gets tiring."

Another PWO....

A little while ago, some friends of Kenny Willekes started noticing he had a likeness to Friday Night Lights star Tim Riggins.

It kept spreading and, eventually, it stuck for the Grand Rapids (Mich.) NorthPointe Christian linebacker.

”A couple of my friends started saying, ‘Hey, you look at lot like Tim Riggins,” Willekes said. “More and more people from different schools that don’t even know each other started saying it, so it stuck around and caught.”

On the field, his play also mirrors that of the character played by actor Taylor Kitsch in the five-season long TV series.

”(We are) very similar,” he said. “We both run downhill and love contact.”

On Thursday, the 6-foot-3, 225-pound senior elected to accept a preferred walk-on at Michigan State over Division 2 offers and a preferred walk-on spot at Minnesota.

Curtis Blackwell on MSU's recruiting philosophy.

Blackwell, who has designed a three-phase approach, said MSU's classes are smaller because of a higher retention rate.

"The number one answer, and the one thing we know for sure, the student-athletes love it here in East Lansing, and I can tell that to any parent,'' Blackwell said on Monday's "Griff and Grinz Show" on Lansing's 92.1 The Team.

"It's why Shilique Calhoun and Connor Cook come back ... and I think that's the best recruiting presentation I can give to a parent,'' he said. "There are a lot of smoke and mirrors out there. When your son gets dropped off at college, all those other recruiting presentations are out the window.''

There are small updates on 2015 offer Cassius Peat and 2015 commit Brian Lewerke at the bottom.

Scout's 2015 impact freshman in the Big Ten....

There are some 2015 prospects Scout expects to see on the field a lot for Big Ten schools this fall.

Here are five:

L.J. SCOTT
Hubbard HS / 6'1" / 227 lbs
POSITION
TB

Analysis: Big back who runs like a big back should. Breaks a lot of arm tackles and has excellent balance. Shows good change of direction ability and short area quickness. He has good feet and is agile for a bigger kid. He likely will not be a true home run threat in college, but has above average speed and can break longer runs. Shows good ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. - Allen Trieu
Michigan State has good running backs coming back, but with Jeremy Langford gone, L.J. Scott has the size and running style to immediately contribute. He is strong between the tackles and has the speed to get to the outside and turn the corner.

The brother of former Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez is leaving the Huskers after one year.

Drake Martinez, a freshman safety who likely would have contributed in 2014 as a backup, plans to transfer this offseason, his father, Casey Martinez, confirmed on Saturday.

Two of the biggest recruits in the Kentucky Wildcats’ 2015 cclass are no longer committed to UK.

David and Andrew Dowell are flipping from Kentucky to Michigan State, according to recruiting analyst Bill Greene.

Both players are considered four-star prospects in the class of 2015 by both Rivals.com and Scout.com, and had been committed since October.

Both played multiple positions at St. Edward High in Lakewood, Ohio, but they were expected to play defensive back at UK.
