Turtleneck wrote:2015 MSU offer Juwaun Harris says he might not make it to MSU for a visit.
This weekend, the Scarlet Knights made a hard push to secure the services of Jawuan Harris, a 5-10, 185-pound receiver from St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.).
Multiple schools, including Michigan State, are making a late effort to get in the good graces of Harris, but the explosive pass catcher says he's taken his final official visit.
"I do not plan on taking other visits as of right now, no," Harris, who projects as a Z receiver told NJ Advance Media.
However, he says it has more to do with being tired of flying than anything else.
"If I dont go (to Michigan State next weekend), it would be mainly because I'm just tired of flying," said Harris, whose primary Rutgers recruiter is wide receivers coach Ben McDaniels. "All the traveling and stuff like that, it gets tiring."

As expected, Harris commits to Rutgers.

I wish a couple of their BB recruits would flip the Spartans way.
Also, the title of this article is rather funny this morning...

There is speculation among some UT fans, that they might not have room for Sapp. I think he's going to Mizzou this weekend.

David and Andrew Dowell are flipping from Kentucky to Michigan State, according to recruiting analyst Bill Greene.
Both players are considered four-star prospects in the class of 2015 by both Rivals.com and Scout.com, and had been committed since October.
Both played multiple positions at St. Edward High in Lakewood, Ohio, but they were expected to play defensive back at UK.
A little more on the two new MSU commits.

He has had a lot of contact with MSU. Both visiting campus and getting a visit from MSU. Sounds like MSU is getting in the mix.

Good!! We need a fucking recruiting analyst to legitimize this site. We can't afford to pay you yet because BobS refuses to give us his CC number for his subscription but we will pay you someday. All we need to do is attract some suckers here to pay $100+ a year to have information on recruits 45 seconds - 2 minutes ahead of the rest of us.

One of BYU's top remaining targets is Mufi Hunt, a 6-foot-6, 220-pound defensive end from Sandy's Brighton High. Hunt tweeted that BYU coaches Bronco Mendenhall, Mark Atuaia and Kelly Poppinga made an in-home visit before the Bengals' basketball game Wednesday night. Hunt is visiting Michigan State this weekend. He has also visited Washington State and said two weeks ago that those three schools — MSU, BYU and WSU — are at the top of his list. He has also said he probably won't decide until signing day.

A list of 2016 recruits that will be on campus this weekend. Dantonio and staff are far enough ahead of the game that they're starting on next year whilst inferior programs scramble to finish out this year. This is a pretty impressive list of kids.

It sounds like 2016 target Kenney Lyke will be on campus as well. This will be his second trip to EL. However, according to the databases, he does not have an offer from MSU.
http://iowa.scout.com/story/1507518-lyke-adds-niuHe added, "I have already visited Michigan State and I love the campus and the people there. I am looking forward to just going back up there and touching base, and to see the intense basketball rivalry between Michigan and Michigan State," Lyke said.

A glimpse of the 2015 class. The stars are aligning.
http://usatodayhss.com/2015/recruiting-stars-starting-to-fill-out-msus-2015-class
Sorry, Michigan State fans with perspective and a healthy disdain for the stars handed out by recruiting services — the newest Spartans have a lot of them.
In fact, the addition this week of the four-star Dowell twins — Andrew and David — from Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward High gives MSU seven recruits with four stars (on a scale of 1-5) in the Class of 2015, according to Rivals.com. If the 18 verbal commitments sign Wednesday, that will tie the 2014 class for the second-most prospects with four or five stars in Rivals.com rankings in Mark Dantonio’s tenure. The 2009 class had 10, and the other six classes had 16 combined.

It sounds like Coach D is building a very strong Preferred Walk on program.
“When my dad was a head coach, we would always go and watch Michigan State’s practices,” Wilker said. “So I always liked Michigan State.”
Wilker, a 6-foot-5, 275-pound offensive lineman, recently announced that he will be headed back to East Lansing. Wilker announced that he has accepted a preferred walk-on offer from Michigan State.
“They offered me a preferred walk-on spot at one of the games I visited, and I knew that was an option I might want to pursue,” said Wilker, who has been recruited as a center and a guard. “I visited some Division 2 schools, but after I finished those, I knew this is where I wanted to go. It will give me a chance to compete at the highest level, so that’s what I decided. I’m pretty excited to be a Spartan. I can’t wait to get there and play for Coach (Mark) Dantonio.”

How many Spartan teams over the years got derailed because the OL couldnt roll two deep with upper class dudes? You can never stockpile enough lineman.

But on a serious note, I really like the walk-on program we've built. Also a big fan of piling up talent from Ohio lately. I think being the most established B1G program in the state after OSU is important in keeping us ahead of the rest of the conference.

It's weird, I used to follow recruiting closely, but now I just look at the names on NSD.
These days I'm more excited about the walk-ons. Those great Nebraska teams from the 90's always had former walk-ons that became big contributors. We're doing the same thing, players want to be here, and they'll pass up on a scholie somewhere else to get a chance to earn one here.
