So stupid. That should be AWL, not WAL. Nobody would ever say Wrestling Arm League.
They’d say Arm Wrestling League.

The US's first test of major team sports may be crumbling.
The MLS tournament in Orlando already had to send two teams home before they played a game as those teams had around 10 positive tests of players/staff. This morning, a game between DC and Toronto was cancelled just an hour or two before kick off, due to at least one positive test (on DC, I believe) and an inconclusive test on Toronto. This after the game was already postponed 2 days due to Toronto coming to the bubble late because they had a delay in test results and a player showing symptoms.

Re: Coronavirius - Sports Related
I gotta give NASCAR credit on how they've handled the covid situation. First with the racing sims, which I only saw briefly, but looked pretty real. They've been racing for several weeks now without a corona incident (that I'm aware of). Everyone is masked up and they've adjusted their routine (no practice time during the week). They've been at the forefront of the current social issues, which they've handled about as well as they could have.
Looks like they even have some fans in the stands today, spaced a good distance apart.
The NWSL (women's soccer league) has been a success so far as well. They've been going for a few weeks and just completed the quarter finals of knockout tournament. 8 seed knocked out the 1 seed.Â

the Longhorns are planning on 50 percent stadium capacity for attendance at home games this fall.
This report was first found in a letter sent by Texas athletic director Chris del Conte to season ticketholders early this week. The letter detailed that all football season ticket holds should have seats for any scheduled games this fall, but some “may be moved to different sections”.

Won’t work. Too many people to enforce any of the guidelines.

MLB starts today. 2 games, both on the 4 letter. NYY @ Nats at 7 PM followed by Giants at Dodgers at 10. I smell a pawlay.
1 week from today NBA kicks off with 2 games.
2 days later NHL.
Yahoo ranks sports leagues ability to survive the rona, from best chance to worst.

Wbh I would flip the nhl and nba on that list. Their approaches are the same except one is in clean Canada and the other has unwashed heathens beating down the door of their bubble on all sides in Florida. I’d rather have my bubble in Canada

True. Maybe it's just because the NBA is a bit ahead of the NHL in the process and everything they've been doing to protect the bubble has been more publicized.

This is why baseball is screwed.
If I'm the Yankees I'm not playing tonight unless the Nats catcher wears a mask FT in the field, same with the infielders. And every batter when up to the plate.

I'm surprised it got this far. I didn't think they'd be able to pull it off at all. I just think this country has no plan or strategy to deal with this pandemic and I just don't see how you have team sports without your entire team eventually getting it.

From a business perspective, what if an athlete like Leborn or Anthony Davis or a Bryce Harper gets their careers cut short because of Covid-19 or comes back a shell of their former selves. Is it worth it to these teams to take that risk?

The potential for permanent lung damage from tCovid would be show stopper for me if I was an athlete. Potentially a career ending injury.

So far it's a lot safer than crack... Idk that there have been any methheads in the NBA though
