The Iowa State athletics department, like all collegiate athletics departments, is faced with a shortfall — money that was expected but never came.

The NCAA men’s basketball tournament makes up 80 percent of all of the revenue for Division I, Division II and Division III athletics.

Since the tournament was canceled, that money isn’t coming and there’s no way to make it up.

That decision was to cut staff pay by 10 percent across the board from coaches to administrators in the athletics department. The coaches also decided to forfeit their bonuses for the next year, which could add up to $1 million in the case of head football coach Matt Campbell or head men’s basketball coach Steve Prohm.

The first major sports (as in actually having world class players, not like the Korean leagues) starting now, German Bundesliga soccer.

Dortmund v Schalke. Two young Americans playing, including 17yo Giovanni Reyna, son of former national team player Claudio Reyna, getting his first ever start for Dortmund. Weston McKennie of Schalke is also a very promising young American at 21 years old.

Edit2: Reyna injured in the warm up and not playing. Bad luck for the kid.

Yeah, I don't see it. Golf, Nascar and even UFC I can see. The close contact and scale seem to make football the least viable sport.

Individual sports you can isolate the individual and a handful of support people.

Team sports, one person gets it and it could spread to many more people and they would shutter them all.

Yeah isolate and quarantine are different.

And I've seen nothing about free for all back to back games no tests KILL EVERYONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN...most of the NBA stuff I've heard lately was a tournament either in Vegas or at Disney with a lot of social distancing involved in getting back to even practice
