So daughter gets rear ended today in EL. She's fine. Drives a commander. Might be sore tomorrow. Little damage in the back. Honda that hit her is totaled. Don't know about the girl that hit her. Needed a set of tires before the snow comes so went to Discount Tire this evening. Got there a little before 6 when they 'close'. Don't actually close...just stop taking any more customers for the day.

Had my old Michelins replaced with new Michelins. The old tires had a 65K tread life warranty. They had less than 35K miles. After telling the guy I wanted them pro-rated my four new tires cost $79 each instead of the $174 DT was asking. Kinda funny because I had roughly estimated what the pro-rated number would be this afternoon. The number DT came up with was even better.

Waited an hour and a half before they finally pulled my SUV in...last vehicle they worked on. Shitload of people getting new tires today, Didn't get out of there until about 8.

Well worth it, though. Truck even rides better now.

Just remembered Michelin was offering a $70 VISA card on the purchase of 4 tires...filled out the necessary information on DT's website.

The cost of my 4 new rubbers went from $696 to $248

I did not have a good experience asking my future FiL. He was kind of a dick. He's a really sweet generous guy but he and I are VERY different people and I've never really connected with him.

My late FiL raised seriously hardline independent-minded kids. If I'd asked him for his daughter's hand, he'd've laughed me out of his home. If my then-future wife had found out what I'd done, then she might very well have called off our plans.
