He has at least twenty plants out there. I'm thinking Clinton County Sheriff Dept is waiting until just before time to harvest to come take them and him away.

Both products are made up almost entirely of dried blood. GreenScreen has a small amount of white pepper. Can’t recall what Plantskyyd uses, but both are entirely safe. I prefer the powder or granules vs. the bags, but only because I had better luck with those two. Never tried the sprays, but wouldn’t hesitate to use.

Re: Bob how's your garden?
harvested 5 tomatoes and 2 cucumbers yesterday alone.. one jalapeno.
My lovely wife whipped up a nice marinara sauce last night with 4 of the tomatoes.. some olive oil, fresh garlic. Gorgonzola cheese.
today, salsa is on the 'to do' list. Gotta grab a hefty supply of cilantro.

My tomatoes are so fucked. It’s fine. Next year. Everything else is good. Oh except cucumbers.
I didn’t have time to keep up with weeding this year, so that was problem 1. Problem 2 is that blight got in there. Problem 3 is that animals came and fucked everything all up.

Are you certain it’s blight? Take some pics and post them here. Is it every plant or just a couple. Never mind. If one has it you’re fucked.

I want this. Lemme know when it’s reduced to the size of a regular push lawn mower.
Meanwhile, there are a couple people in the neighborhood using quasi-flame flowers:

I’ll get some pictures but yeah it spread. It was like yellowing of leaves about a month ago

Yellowing alone isn’t necessarily blight. You might have overwatered them. Google has good photos for identifying tomato plant problems and diseases.
If it is blight, you have to get rid of the plants and treat the soil or it’ll happen all over again.

Okay, so maybe those yellow leaves could be dead from under watering. We’ll get a better idea if it’s blight when you post pics. Please include some shots of the leaves and tomatoes themselves.

Re: Bob how's your garden?
Just following on my previous comment about the round zucchini, I found another advantage for those with young kids. After coming home from vacation we had a rather large zucchini. So we made a for the little one.
We also have some potentially large pumpkins this year too, so likely not the last "Jack" as my daughter calls him.

Did the search say if you can eat them when ripe? Or are these bitches strictly ornamental?

Hmmm… if only there was a way to find out that information. What could it be? What. Could. It. Be?

Growing season wrapping up quickly. Still harvesting a few tomatoes but, for the most part, my summer fruits and vegetables are slowing down big time.

Lost a lot of tomatoes to deer. They would’ve gone well with venison chops.

Re: Bob how's your garden?
Ended up being a good hard squash/pumpkin year. There are still more on the plants, but I wanted to get the ones in the open field picked before the heavy frost comes.
And somehow we managed to get some corn this year. Normally we get it in late July/early August. I think I will pick the last bit tomorrow.

Solid thread bump.
Good year for tomatoes and cukes. Tomorrow I'm gonna work on tearing down the garden, composting and mowing.

Anyone try planting brussel sprouts? They'd be ripe for harvesting about now.

I got a BS plant in the ole garden. Last time I took a peek at them, like a week ago, they were still a little small. Hoping they fatten up some before I pick em

Re: Bob how's your garden?
Been using roundup on weeds. Switching to acetic acid (vinegar) and a little dish soap & table salt this year.
Bought this:
Calyptus 75% Pure Super Concentrated Vinegar | Dilutes to 4.5 Gallons | 15x Power Vinegar | Industrial Use, 32 Ounces
Read the product comments for weed killing dilution and they're all over the map ranging from undiluted to 20:1. A 3:1 water to 75% acetic acid ratio makes sense to me. Does that sound right?

Re: Bob how's your garden?
Sorry, Pantry. All I’ve ever used is white vinegar out of the bottle. It worked well, though. Killed everything except chickweed. I noticed it killed both the weed and the closest grass, but it doesn’t take long for the grass to grow back.
btw, be very careful where you use salt. You’ll turn the soil right around the immediate area into unusable dirt.

Re: Bob how's your garden?
The only bummer to getting the keys to my new house next week is having to leave the garden behind after just one summer with a full ass garden. I probably won’t be able to put something like that in at the new place, but raised beds and such I can do.

Can’t put the garden in the new place because of an HOA or just not enough time this year?
